My handbag was containing my ID, drivers and bank cards. I ordered new cards from FNB. I received and SMS to collect my cards from the branch and to bring my ID. I took my temporary ID I got from home affairs. I stood in line (with my 3 year old) for 40 minutes. FNB refused to give me my cards because I didn't have an affidavit stating that my ID was!!! What difference does an affidavit make? You can write anything in an affidavit, that doesn't prove anything. Why would I about my ID being if I really urgently need my bank cards?? I cannot understand what difference an affidavit would make. My father also ordered cards from FNB to be delivered about 6 months ago. He is still waiting for the cards and subsequently closed his account with FNB. This is why I opted to collect my cards from a branch. FNB HAS TO STOP WITH ALL THE FALSE ADVERTISING ABOUT MAKING BANKING EASIER AND "HOW CAN WE HELP YOU", obviously you can't. I can't even close my account with FNB, because for that I also need an AFFIDAVIT!!!
