I recently took my car in for servicing and had noticed a noise develop from the clutch which progressively got worse over the course of a couple of days until it would cause vibrations. On inspection, the mechanics found that the clutch needed replacement and I asked them to contact AMP since it is one of the items listed on my cover. AMP then contacted me and told me I was only really covered if the car got so bad it needed towing (which by the end of the trip to the dealership, I'd say it was). They however said they would be willing to consider it if the shop stripped the car (at my expense) and their inspector could take a look. It seems the inspector they sent decided the clutch is fine so now I'm stuck with a huge bill that I thought I had taken insurance against.

So... despite some of the conditions of the cover being that I take all reasonable precautions to prevent damage, was I supposed to wait until something gave in, likely with me on the road? I mean... if the clutch suddenly gives way while I'm on the highway, it'll likely be a claim for accident damage to a different company. Is that really the business model?
