I'm tired of guessing, which is it?

I took my Golf for the 90 000km service last week, both the maintenance plan (5yrs/90 000km) and warranty (3yrs/120 000km) were still valid. The car was making an odd sound when idling, I reported this to Tanya the service advisor - she also heard the sound. I go to pick up my car and the sound is still there, no change. 20 mins later Tanya calls the Service manager, he says it's nothing, I insist because the vehicle is still under motorplan and warranty so he ask one of his mechanics and he comes back and tells me it's the clutch.

This is where it gets REALLY interesting...

The service manager explains that the clutch is only covered under the warranty if there is no abuse. I tell him I've never abused my car which is in otherwise pristine condition. He says fine, Tanya books in the vehicle to have the clutch replaced on Tuesday under the warranty.

Tuesday the car goes in, Tanya calls me at 12h50 to tell me the warranty won't cover because of mileage. HUH???

Fine I call VWSA, they promise to contact the dealership directly and come back to me in 24-48hrs...

I call the service manager, he now says "Sorry clutch only covered for 1 month" HUH???

So... WHICH IS IT???
