Today six days after requesting my account to be closed, it is still open. I recieived a call from a woman called Maartie who made empty promises, because she could not help me at all, . And after spending hours on the phone wasting my airtime and speaking to different people including a useless Tshepo from the call centre who refused to call his supervisor and did not even bother to take down my account number. I finally got through to Refiloe who claimed that she'd been trying to get hold of me. She just added to my frustration by telling me that the account cannot be closed because it is now in credit??? And in order to close it I need to go to Northgate which is 30min. away from me to sign for a R9. credit, because she claims the amount cannot be transferred to another bank without the customer's signature. What if I had moved to Cape Town? I called Northgate because she gave me a Name Giovanni, who when I called found out that they all left early because the offices got flooded. What a joke. I have never been so frustrated, due to one simple request. I was not happy with the Bank service but now I am extremeley disgusted, furious and frustrated to say the least.
