It is with great dissappointment that this is now the second time that i had to mention standard bank westgate after one of their employees fraudently opened up a cheque account in my name and now i am battling over 3 months to get this account closed and off my name. I went to to standard bank northgate on the 19 Feb to personally close this account and to show them that this account was opened up without my permission.
Westgate branch phoned me to insure me that their employee received a warning about opening this account and that the account will be closed from immediate effect.
To my surprise i received another statement today the 9th April 2013 showing that this account is still on my name. I have made several phone calls and each time they assure me that this account will be closed today they told me that it was just never done.
What more does standard bank want me to do to get this done. I have three different reference numbers already i have been personally to standard bank northgate to try and get it done and nothing has been done.
When i wanted to open an acc it was refused without proof of residence letter from my husband etc but an employee can open a frauded acc
