REF: Sibongile Xashimba 13 November 2013
In August 2013 I made a personal loan by Nedbank. I pay my installments each and every month - as faithfully as I have in the last 5 years at other financial institutions. Check all my records.
Yesterday I received a letter in the mail (dated 30 October 2013) from Nedbank indicating that my account is overdue. I apparently failed to pay one of my installments and I am "in breach of the signed Nedbank PLCA."
In the letter I was prompted to pay my full amount "immediately" otherwise my "account will be handed over to our legal department" and I will have a bad credit record.
I, as a client, feel as if I'm treated like a criminal. If I ever receive a letter like that again I will take further action.
My bank stated payment was made on 1 November 2013. So it was paid in 2 days after the letter was issued. But my problem is also - I stated twice already that payment be made on the first of the next month (for current month) and not the last of the current.
I phoned them today and Miss Xashimba explained that they can't shift payment from end Nov to 1 Dec to remedy the pattern. I have to do a cash deposit and run around for their mistakes.
