Pathetic service from Absa

I am South African who has been living in Italy for more that a year now. On the 2nd of May 2013 I sent an email to Absa to cancel my credit card and with that I sent all the documents the requested from me. I received an auto-response to indicate that they have received my mail. On the 7th of May I wrote them another email seeing that they have not responded and again I received an auto-response. On the 20 of May I sent them the 3rd email because they hadn't replied, as usual. To this day I am still waiting for a reply from Absa.

Two weeks ago I called them and I was put on hold for eternity and I hung up, the second time I called them the same day I was cut off. So I gave up on them for a while, again.

But now I have learned a good lesson to try to Bank with real South African banks next time. Absa's service is pathetic to say the least. My account is probably one of the smallest they have there, I don't see how difficult it could be to cancel that account.
