I have been banking with ABSA for about 9 years &

I have been banking with ABSA for about 9 years & have never had a problem with them until the last 3-4 months. I opened a saving account in Umhlanga, on or about 04/05. I had this account until i moved to jhb in 2010. In 2011 i opened a gold cheque account with a Mr benjamin something in Balfour Park. I changed the account to value bundles early this year. i lost my job in July 13 and there were no funds going into the account since August. i was called by several consultants telling me i qualified for this & that and i asked SEVERAL times to please close this account as i CANNOT afford to keep it open. i just had a baby & was unable to ge into a branch to close same and it was confirmed t. I was advised in August that this would be done. I have continued to receive calls frm ABSA regarding the account that i have now asked i don't know how many times to close and it has still not been done. How can i keep an account open if i am not working. Now i am told that the account has a balance of /-700 & i must pay for it before it can be closed. I went in to a branch in Kew & the manager told me she cant help me close it because the account was opened in umhlanga, so much 4 your help
