I clicked on a link for ABSA e-statements and logged in to apply for my statement - turns out I was giving my login credentials away... Well the scamsters got into my account got my cellphone number (Vodacom) and did a sim card swap - after that there was nothing to stop them doing whatever they liked on my account... They transferred money from my Credit Card to my current account - created a beneficiary and paid out R4999 I'm lucky they didnt go for more as ASBA claim that the liability with me... But I dispute that!
ABSA rely on mobile networks to maintain their level of authentication and security - in this case VODACOM, who were too happy to help someone hijack my cellphone number - with complex security questions like: "What is your first name" they authorized the SIM SWAP and now I'm R4999 in debt.
ABSA is only interested in their own prosperity and the sooner I move the better, I thought banks were insured for cases like these - but I'm sure its just part of ABSAs "Milking it" Campaign
I run my own business, if one of my clients suffers because of the way I do business, I change the way I do things - I dont make it their problem - ABSA!
