Request to restructure my repayment denied

I requested Absa to restructure the repayment of our home loan account, because of being retrenched and without an income at the moment. Absa responded that our request was denied, because of an apparent policy that restructuring could not take place more that 3 times in a 5 year period. We have requested this before once in 2008, in 2009 and in 2010 with no problems. at the moment our account is showing that we pay monthly and even far more than the required amount.

I requested the lady who contacted me to put this in writing by e-mailing the decision and reasons which she refused because of apparent policy. I need to study the response in order to make decisions about the way forward, and to have the decision in writing will guide my response.

Back in 2008 ABSA also refused to pay out an insurance claim caused by damage resulting from a storm. They claimed that it was due to a lack of maintenance. But just prior to that they regularly inspected our property to pay out amounts requested for alterations and property improvements.

Absa is unwilling to help clients! we have requested them to assist us but they refuse! it is like fighting a brick wall. They continue to bully us!
