A policy holder with Discovery Insure (Name: Kirsten Hardie, Vehicle registration: BT 98 DL GP, Vehicle make: Subaru, Vehicle colour: Blue) carelessly rear-ended my Mercedes C-Class out of negligent driving & failing to observe adequate following distance on Rivonia road on Wednesday morning (16th October 2013). She down-played the damage saying it would cost a few hundreds of rands. I was not in agreement with this & advised that we need to follow the proper insurance channels but clearly she did not heed the advise. Out of sheer consideration, I duly proceeded to Mercedes Sandton to get a quote for the parts repair/replacement (the parts alone came to approximately R 8500). I forwarded this parts quote to Kirsten Hardie, who now suddenly saw the logic why we should have pursued the insurance route. I lodged the accident report at Sandton police station same day (Case No. 487/10/2013). Kirsten Hardie insists that she has lodged the claim with Discovery Insure, but I have received no contact from Discovery. This is extremely poor service from Discovery, it's been 6 days & I haven't heard anything from Discovery Insure. Very disappointing service people.
