Can't change email telephonically

I do not go into banks! I got my Blue Bean card without having to go near a bank, but now, when I need to update my email address so that STD Bank can keep in contact with me, I am told I have to go into a bank to do so. STD is only open during the hours that I also work and I do not see the point in taking time off work, losing money, to go into a bank. FYI - I just changed my email address on the phone with 2 other banks. No problem, and I've already received confirmatory emails from them.
