We had a business account with FNB as an SME that was closed without notification from the bank, knowingly that the struggle face by SME dealing with Government payments. We struggle for month to get payment from the government department which was suppose to be paid to the FNB account only to find out that the account is closed without notification and the money was returned to the client, when requesting the bank to re-open the account so as to arrange for the client to re-deposit the amount, the consultant said the account number will change and we informed them that it will defit the purpose. Now the department say it will take six moth for the new banking details and payment to be rectified and on the other hand the same FNB that refused to assist is handing us to attorney for collection. This bank is claiming to assist SME and is marketing to newly registered companies to open accounts with them, yet failing to measure up on the services they promised and closed our account without any notice sending back more than R10, 000 for merely R459.00. This behaviour is disappointing and ruthless.
