What a tedious and costly exercise to retrieve a bank statement/tax certificate for the financial yr Mar 09-Feb 10 on my cheque account. I am completely appalled at the idea of paying R20 per page for a statement, which I proceeded to inform your call centre about (26 Sep 13), who then in turn suggested a tax certificate (which the bank provides free of charge). Yesterday I tried collecting this document and was informed by the branch consultant that the request was logged but could not be actioned, as tax certificates are not available for cheque accounts. In the interim, Ive confirmed with another bank that their policy on statements older than 6 months are provided at R11.50 per month to their customers, as well as it being available within 24hrs. Seriously considering changing my bank, as bank charges and lack of customer service is the order of the day.
