Lets get straight to the facts. I applied for a home loan at ABSA and Standard Bank. I was approved by both parties. ABSA is my personal bank and I don't have an account with Standard Bank. The irony is that Standard Bank made me a better offer on the home loan than ABSA on the same property. I wanted to remain with ABSA and out of decency I sent them Standard Bank's quote only to find out a week later that they are sticking with their offer (meaning ABSA).
ABSA, guess what you had your fair opportunity as a loyal customer to you for 10 years plus but your ignorance got the better of you. Now that I am closing all my accounts, now I receive calls of "why" and all of a sudden you want to investigate. I did my utmost best to give ABSA the best opportunity to retain and gain my new business.
If there is one thought I would like to leave with you, I am not the first of my family to leave ABSA for Standard Bank the past year. You are losing business due to the ignorance in the home loans department.
My personal banker tried her best with ABSA home loans without success.
Why can't one get or meet the decision makers to sit around a table and discuss the situation.
