We applied for a home loan at absa and according to our agent at rawson the application was declined due to affordability. to me this does not make sense seeing that we currently renting and paying R6400 pm and after all our deductions we still have a surplus. our agent tried to motivate our application but absa stuck to their findings and also stated i dont have any accounts with them. furthermore, last year October we applied for a bond aswell and absa gave us an 85% bond at 8.75% however we needed a 100% bond and we never accepted the qoute. when i log onto my absa banking this bond still reflects and i can not reject it. this might be affecting our application, in addition to that absa advised our agent that i do not have any accounts with you, which is not true seeing that i have a cheque account and credit card. we really need a 100% bond, i will go as far to say grant us a bond and put a garnish on my account to mitigate any risk that could be identied
