Taking forever to sort my vehicle claim 5 months

Taking forever to sort out my vehicle claim of 16/4/2013. It is 5 months now.
The man who drove into me, has also insurance.
They wanted to write my car off. I went and got a quote from a panel beater that works with the insurance companies. It is half my car value. So I will NOT let them write my car off.
After two months sending emails trying to get answers from them. They notified me the man on my case does not work there anymore.
I am now dealing with the fourth person.
Every time I have to send all my documents again.
Then they have the nerve to ask me: do you have the report of police.
Since when is it our responsibility to get the report from the police station after both parties reported the accident.
The damage is the back door on the right hand side of the car, and the by the petrol cap. There is nothing wrong with the engine. I drive to work every day.
Please I need this car to be fixed urgently.
Why do we have insurance??
I am really not satisfied with their service.
