Policy Complaint

In 2005 when I turned 21 my mother went to metropolitan offices to change my policy so that I can have an independent policy, she was assist with taking out a new policy under my name only, however the lady (Hermina) that assisted her at the time advised her that the excisting policy she will not cancel and in the event that I were to die they would both pay out. In the following years including 2013 my & myself have gone to the same offices to enquire why should I have two policies we were both told that we need not worry as these policies would both pay out in the event of death. I have since made a call to your call centre and was advised that if I were to die only one policy would pay out. I am logging this complaint as Metropolitan has been debiting my mom for the last 8 for two policies. Your call centre has advised that I would not get any refunds for cancelling the policy were I was a dependant under my mother, and according to law, your advisers were supposed to cancel existing policy were I was a dependant as I was older than 21. I need to metropolitan to refund me all the premiums paid up until this month since 2005 or this complaint will be escalated with the Ombudsman
