I had a funeral policy with Metropolitan. Someone from Metropolitan came to my office to ask if I don't wish to change something. I told her I want to increase the cover so she went to the office to do it. instead of increasing my cover, she gave me a new policy and I found myself with 2 funeral policies from the same company (Metropolitan). I then called the call centre to cancel the old one and was told that I must e-mail a letter and a copy of my ID. I e-mail the letter and copy of my ID and I received a response that the copy of my ID must be certified. When taking the policies, I was never ask for a copy of ID and a written letter but when cancelling, you want a CERTIFIED copy of my ID of which I may not be able to provide soon enough and the debit orders may go off and money deducted in my account for something that I wanted to cancel. Please help as it is difficult to go and certify a copy of my ID and what I only need is a cancellation and not some payout or something.
