FNB most innovative bank of South Africa? Maybe they should focus on basic banking service to their (prospected) customers first...
Application for a bank account is now taking more than 2 months, and counting. Despite enquiring twice in the branch; 48 hours (promised reply to an e-mail) now accumulated to more than 10 days: this is non-existent customer service. The problem seems to be our foreign passports.
Sending an e-mail to customer care only results in massive attachments (1.1 Mb) conveying the simplest of messages: we will get in touch within 48 hrs. Never happened...
In the meantime we opened a bank account with Standard bank, who provided us within a week with an account number and cards. It is possible is South Africa!
