Information Pertaining To NPO/ NGO Accounts

Dear Sir/ Madam

I approached the Nedbank Mandeni branch to inquire about the requirements for opening an NGO bank account. I spoke to an African lady consultant. She told us amongst other things that 3 committee members would be required to come and open an account. However, we could open the account at Stanger as they did not perform this function. On 30/08 the three committee members travelled to Stanger and when we got there the consultant told us all 5 committee members should be there in order for her to open this account.

The wrong information that the Mandeni Branch furnished us with led to a waste of money travelling to and from Stanger for nothing. Furthermore, this is delaying all our plans as we need to make yet another arrangement to address this. Our organisation cannot function efficiently without the bank account.
Should the Mandeni branch consultant have not been well clear of the procedure for NGO accounts, why couldn't she consult with her seniors (even call another branch) and then cascade the accurate information to us?

I really love doing business with Nedbank but this POOR SERVICE by the Mandeni Branch is a big turn off!
