I initially accepted an insurance quote from Anderson Insurance because I was told it's underwritten by RMB and being a FNB client I thought it was wise. I was very wrong.
After doing some research and checking Hellopeter I called them the next day to cancel as I was still awaiting delivery of my new car. They informed me I would have to give 30 days notice to cancel insurance on a car I hadn't even received yet. Which is not the case with short term insurance.
They then went ahead anyway and debited my account a day before I received the car, which I reversed and stop payment. I then received a call from a lady at Anderson Insurance asking me why the debit order was unpaid. After informing her of my stop payment she assured me no further attempts would be made to debit my account. I wake up Sunday morning to another debit order from Anderson Insurance.
I am on holiday but will now have to find a bank and get another reversal authorized. This is ridiculous as it appears as an unpaid on my account.
Can this company not be fined or something done? Is RMB aware of this behaviour?
