I went to absa ATM to withdraw money. The moment I inserted the card nothing happened on the screen. So I had to wait for a moment tO see if the atm will give me ANY option or just return my card. Unfortunately non of the two happened. I had an option to call absa card stop department but I didn't have airtime to do so since the contact number is not a toll free. I then rushed to the bank to create a new card. On my way I received three sms's first was a withdrawal of R 1000.00 and the other two was a Purchases (R1000 each). I then ask the bank officials to stop the card and then open the case. While waiting for their reply which took two to three weeks, they tell me that my request for refund was declined because I should have stopped the card because the illegitimate transactions took place which really didn't even make any sense to me. As I was making follow up on the matter they now tell me they can only refund 25% of my entire loss which I declined.
My biggest worry is that they don't event tell me their findings all they says is "according to our finds" and i kept asking did you find because I have the right to now. I've realized they only want to play games with me. very bad
