My car's wheels were in my yard while I was sleeping on the night of 1 August 2013. I called Auto & General on the morning of 2nd August when I realised this and reported the case. The call centre, Refilwe was very sympathetic towards my situation, however when the claim was finalised, I was not paid in full for my loss. I was desperate to get my car going and accepted what was given to me.
My car had original Toyota mag wheels on and Auto & General insisted on paying for a replacement from Tiger Wheel & Tyre instead of ensuring that the original mag wheels were replaced. This has left me in a worse of position than what I was in before my loss. Secondly it has been assumed by Auto & General that the betterment on the tires that was was 50% as I did not have proof as to when last I had the tires replaced, which in my opinion was a thumb-. This claim is totally flawed since I am very far from being in the position that I was in before my loss and this has caused me to lose faith in the need to be insured at all.
