I requested a quote on the Outsurance website on the 19th of July and was contacted by an agent from the Pretoria offices. He quoted me R148 for household insurance to the value of R50000 and when I changed it to R100 000 he said he could give me a special price of R120 a month with no admin fees. I asked him to give me some time to think about it as I wanted to know what my other insurance provider would offer. Typically insurance companies offer a discounted rate if you have both car and household insurance. He told me at 2:35 that I had to let him know by 3pm as then when the agents leave on a Friday. According to your website agents are available until 6pm. So either the website or he is lying. I do not appreciate him giving me such an ultimatum as it is an important decision and it was fairly urgent. All I requested was 1 hour. He said he would call at 3 and I needed to provide a yes or no answer. I left a complaint on the Outsurance website that afternoon and I have still not heard from them. Is this how outsurance treats all new clients??
