I was contacted by the Outsurance Sales Dept today, as a friend had referred me. They did a comparative quote with regards to my current insurance for home and car insurance. Once the preliminary questions were asked and I was given the quote (ref # 1592998) which included vehicle insurance: R700.04 (My Miway cover - R623.64) and household insurance: R243.85 (My Miway cover - R197.03) I then asked if I could please have my R400 - which is promised if Outsurance cannot beat the consumers current cover? I was told that this was only if I had contacted Outsurance myself! I have looked on their website [URL Removed] and at a recent advert in the You magazine (16th Jan 2014) and nowhere does it state that in order to qualify the consumer would need to have contacted the call centre - it states "We are prepared to pay anybody R400 cash if we are unable to beat his/her current car insurance premium when quoted on a like-for-like basis" So I ask again - where is my R400 Outsurance?
