I bought a new house with a homeloan through Nedbank and the property registered on the 28th of June. I was told that I can take external home owners insurance cover which I just need to verify within 3 weeks of registration else they would add me to the standard Nedbank homeowners cover. I verified the home owners cover twice via email and the bond attorney which registered the bond also did the verification. Tonight I just received that my Nedbank home owners cover policy has been issued because I failed to verify my external insurance.
What is the point of telling me I need to verify my external cover if you are just going to go ahead and do whatever you like? I've verified this 3 times but obviously this wasn't enough. I`m very disappointed in Nedbank regarding this, an incident like this speaks a lot to competency.
