Myself and a friend applied for a mortgage bond with Nedbank back in 2010. From date of inception you are required to have houseowner's insurance, either with an external agent or with Nedbank. I submitted that there is an external policy in place and that Nedbank cover will NOT be needed. Leaving it at that, the matter was not contemplated any further. Upon bond endorsement, registered on 29/08/2013 it was found that, not only has Nedbank been adding a houseowner's insurance instalment to the overall bond instalment since 2010, but after repeating the same process again recently with bond endorsement registered as stated (on numerous occasions), a houseowner's insurance instalment is STILL added to bond instalment, unduly enriching Nedbank in the amount of app. R21 000 at my expense regardless of the fact that external policy documents were submitted timeously as required in 2010 and 2013. Upon enquiry, we have had no response or assistance. This matter will no doubt be escalated to the appropriate authority
