I went in2 the branch with 2 Gentlemen 2 assist them 2 dep. cash inside. When we enquired from a Sesotho speaking gentleman the dep. slips that were not placed on the floor. He verbally abused me by 1st asking me where I bank, which in my opinion was irrelevant. Upon which I responded that I do not have a banking account, He with sarcasm responded 2 me by saying this is not a spaza shop (refered 2 in the local language as a tuckshop, term he used). He further related 2 us that they no longer take cash deposits & that we must go to a ATM machine in further in town where they installed a machine that handles cash deposits. I politely asked him not to be rude & tread us as customers with respect & further explained to him that if they have changed policy of handling cash they must inform customers in the right manner, & also the fact that it is dangerous to expect a customer to come with cash in the bank & further go back out of the abk with it. U expose him to thugs. I told him that I am going to report him for this bad manners only to realise with a shock that he is indeed the servce head of that Branch. How can Standard Bank relate to it's customers with such arrogance is shocking!!
