I received an sms from my credit card company that a transaction of R500 had been made on my account. I called them this morning and apparently easypay debited R500 and then R100 from my account at 2:39AM. I then called easypay and the consultant I spoke to was rude and unhelpful and told me she would send me details of the transactions and that I have to take it up with my bank. My problem is that these sort of transactions have happened before and they have been reported in the media. And does there not have to be a signed agreement before a debit order can go through an account? I want to know what easypay is doing about this, if it's a legitimate company they should have measures in place to prevent such!
