I have been banking with Nedbank for most of my life. Just recently I had applied for car finance with Absa bank as i also bank with Absa and my application was declined. Reason been that I was listed on ITC by Nedbank for my credit card account being unpaid. I have asked them for both my credit cards to be debited for my cheque account if need be. I have never missed I usually deposit a lot more than the credit card instalment but on the 1 May 2013. I did not do a deposit as i had funds in the cheque account and thought they would have debited it. This is the first time i did not deposit in the whole 20 years and had done a deposit on the 15th of the month. The amount due was R380 and i had deposited 1500 to the credit card.
My complaint is that I pay for sms notification every month, I did not get a notice of any sort and further I am now listed on ITC for 5 years because of this. I have spoken to the bank and all they can do is supply me with a letter to say the account is up to date. It was an honest mistake and the least the bank could have done instead of sending me smses to spend my hard earned money, send one to notify me before go ahead and list me.
