25th of June i applied for a bank account to nedbank via internet. I got a speedy response that a banker will contact me to do fica registration and card delivery. I waited for about 3 weeks, no phonecalls from nedbank whatsoever - i decided to go into a branch and query. I spoke to a consultant and explained my story - he picked up the account did fica registration on system and gave me a confirmation of account and advised that i need to wait for the sales team to contact me but can issue the account details to my companies salary dept. 23July i phoned customer care and explained again - the helpful lady advised that the account had a closed status to it and i need go back to the branch so that they can re-open. The same day i went to the branch spoke to a consultant and advised the account shows a closed status and want to switch my debit asap. She checked and advised that i should confirm my address and they will reopen my account/issue me with a card. In the end nobody could reopen the account! I had to reopen a new account. My salary/debits bounced i have to wait a extra two weeks for to receive my salary by cheque and all Nedbank could say '' were sorry sir...''
