I recently applied for the Standard bank Ipad 4 mobile deal through the standard bank website which clearly states that if you buy the tablet using your credit card, you only pay R289pm interst free over a period of 24 months.
So I proceeded to apply for the tablet using my standard bank credit card. The application was approved and I received my tablet 3 days later.
I then went to check my credit card transacctions to see if the 1st payment of R289 has been deducted yet and to my shock, i discovered they debited my credit card with the full amount!! How on earth does that work.. Ive been trying to contact DG Stores for the last 3 days and their phones are either engaged or unanswered.. The fact that they took the full amount means I get charged interest by the bank plus since I have insured my credit card, the bank also deducts about R3.80 for every R1000 that I use -which is what I was trying to avoid.. I just need someone to explain why the full amout was taken from my account as that is not what I signed up for!
