So Standard bank phoned my wife to offer her a credit card. She said not to the guy on the phone as she still needed to chat to me her husband to find out if we want this credit card. So this dude goes ahead with the application and made it as if she said yes. Two months down the line we get a bill that she owes the bank R285 or something like that for admin fees. She never signed for anything and a credit card account was opened on her name. Isn't this illegal? Isn't this? Can something be done about this to Standard bank? How can they just go and give someone a credit card and ask them to pay for something that they have not agreed to yet or has not signed anything yet? I think we should go to the police and open a case of but our police isn't going to do anything about it. We the consumer will just have to suffer again like always. WOW how I hate the banks in SA...
