I phoned credit card division in august 2012 to pay in full and close the credit card account. After making a payment I phoned standard bank again to confirmed that the account was paid in full and the credit card account was closed and the gentlemen said he has closed the account on the standard bank. It came as shock to me to hear that there is a default listing dated September 2012, owing R14, 900 on standard bank credit card.

I made a call to standard credit card division on 15 November 2012 re same at about 10 am and the lady i spoke to promised that there was a mistake and it will be rectified but that did not happen. Is this the sign that I need to cut all my financial commitments with standard bank?
