Loan department poor communication incorrect info

I took out a temporary loan with FNB, which I thought I had long since paid off. There was no indication that I had not on my statements, and no communication to this effect. 3 months down the line, I am told that I still had an outstanding amount and that I had been handed over to the lawyers for this - and that I would need to call the lawyers to check what the outstanding amount was on the legal fees. When I ask why they had not contacted me to let me know that I still had this outstanding amount, they simply say "they don't know? " I was shocked as I was never contacted by their lawyers. I called their lawyers, Groenewald, who said they had no knowledge or information on my case, as I was not on their system. Thank you FNB for your poor communication and false information.
