I was dooped into a Flexi Club contract at the age of 20 and after 12 long painfull years with Flexi Club, a settlement agreement was initiated by the Flexi Club lawyers (Louis Hansmeyer Attorneys) on 29 May 2012. This agreement stipulated that should I settle the outstanding fees on the account, amounting to R 6, 717.00 by 31 July 2012, the contract would be cancelled. As I was unable to afford this amount, I made a personal loan and paid the amount due by the due date. Further to this, I've provided proof of payment to the lawyers and when I made follow up calls, I was informed that my policy was in the process of being cancelled and should ignore any statements from Flexi Club. It is now June 2013 and I am still receiving statements showing that this year's fees are due. About a week ago I received a call about outstanding fees, which is a clear indication that Flexi Club and the lawyers are in breach on the agreement I have on e-mail. I wish for this to be resolved as a matter of urgency or I will have no choice but to take my proof and forward it onto the Ombudsman.
