FNB don't give a ; don't believe their advertising vomit! They'll only help you if you're Leon Schuster and if they're on TV.
I don't have a great credit rating due to being laid off in 2008 and not being able to find work until recently. Since prior to 2008 my wife's salary, and more recently my salary (I finally got employment) has been paid into my FNB account. Any money that I was able to make in the interim has also been paid into my FNB account too.
I applied for a measly R2000 overdraft to get me through the month, but I was declined because a computer said I was a bad risk. They wouldn't even consider my circumstances - just a cold hard NO!
I doubt that they're different to any other bank, but that's my experience and I'd like to let others who are considering switching that you'd probably be better off staying at your current bank.
