First National Bank
Settlement Letter on Credit Card

I phoned FNB call centre to request a settlement letter on Wednesday morning (17/07/2013) and I was told to send and email of which I did. I was planing to settle the account on Friday 19/07/2013. When I do not get a letter on Thursday, I went to Sandton City branch hoping to get a letter quicker.

I was assisted by a consultant (Mrs P Ndlovu) who unfotunately had to make several phone calls to three different departments inorder to help me.

Firstly he phoned customer care and spoke to Musa who referred him to Retention.
Secondly he phoned Retention and spoke to Mohamed who also referred him to Collections.
Thirdly he phone Collection and spoke to Linda who also referred him back to the above departments.

The worst part of this, it takes 10 to 20 minutes to get through to one of the above departments. We were listening to that funny music. I was at the bank from 13:25 to 14:10 and could not get help. The consultant was trying all his best to help me but in vain. I had to use my cell phone to advise my employer that I will be late because it was during my lunch hour.

To date no settlement letter was received and the cut off to submit it is 19 July 2013.
