I have been a client of Nedbank for years. I had all of my accounts with them - Cheque, Investment, Credit card, Mortgage bond, life insurance and home owners insurance. i was offered a private banker and thats when things went pear shaped. He advised me to have my debit orders for my insurances come off separately from my bond. I phoned in to request this, and thinking all was done waited for the debit order yo come off at the end of the month. The life insurance did not come off and after phoning in for 4 months consecutively was told that the policy was cancelled - I NEVER GAVE CONSENT FOR THIS!! And the bank told me that this was something they could not correct, i should get a policy elseswhere!
The banker told me to get a debit order for my credit card, he arranged everything. NO DEBIT ORDER CAME OFF! I complained to him but was never refunded the extra charges that Nedbank deducted for late payment! I asked him whether everything was in place a few days before the debit order came off - twice in fact - and he assured and told me not to make the payment myself as a debit order will come off.
Needless to say i did not retain his services!
