I'm normally a happy Absa client. But I had this problem on Saturday 13 July 2013: I sent R100 to my son via Absa's CashSend facility. I used my cellphone. I was repeatedly told by the system that the SECRET CODE I supplied was incorrect. I repeatedly tried to complete the transaction, but couldn't. But later SIX debits went off my account, totalling R600. I was told via SMS by Absa that I had done six transactions. My son only took R100 at an ATM, and I was able to redeem R500 the next day. I just wonder: do I pay admin costs for these redeemed transactions? I did nothing wrong - it was an Absa system problem.
