I was a Standard Bank account holder for years and I moved banks late 2011. I had issues in terms of convienience. I had a credit card and a cheque account. I paid off my credit card and on the day i paid up the Std credit card I called in the services desks to check if the money was received and I asked the lady that was helping to close both the Cheque account and the credit card and she agreed to it. I left it at that thinking they were both closed.

Now i am left with a debt on my cheque account because the account has not been closed. I have been handed over to lawyers and they are debt collectors. I have started to pay for something that i feel i should not be paying had the lady done her job properly. It is not my duty to teach Stb Bank stuff how to handle queries as I am a customer. Std Bank should give their intensive training since they with finances. I sure hope this matter gets resolved because I am tired oif it.
