I had a gold credit card about 3 years ago, the account was paid and a letter was received with balance 0, account paid up. My internet profile does not allow me to go into my credit card account, it just says account closed. The account was closed via transfer from my cheque acc to my credit card. To my knowledge the account was closed. Today I had contacted standard bank regarding a personal loan, and was told card 5221266360960065 had a status of handed over to legal/attorney. I phoned 0861201010 spoke to fortune, made her aware that I was not aware that the account was handed over and also of th method of payment, was told i can only get a letter stating the account was paid up in full, i requested also proof of the letters that was sent to me saying account handed over etc. was told the account was 3yrs old etc. I was never aware of this status on my account until today and always wondered why other banks would lend me except for standard who i've banked with all my life. I asked for this status on this account to be changed and they make it sound like i am a criminal - would take 5yrs to be removed, is if my account was handed over, why did I pay at the bank-not attorney
