I went to the FNB Branch in N1 City on Thursday 11th July. Linda (or Lindy helped me. She was very friendly.
I needed some information on my one account that I had not used in some time. She told me it was closed because I had not used it. The last time it closed, I just put some money in and they reopened it for me. Linda told me I had to reopen my account & she cut up my card?? I asked if I had to pay for a new card because of all of this now. She said it would be free & I won't need to pay for a new card.
But LAST time I just added money into the account to reopen. Why was I unable to do the same here??? And now my account is -R75 for a card when I was assured that I would not have to pay for one. When I opened up my account on Friday 12th July, I was not told that I had to pay for a new card!!! I only found this out when I was trying to do cellphone banking!!! What id going on?? If I new about this whole card story, I would not have gone through this nonsense!! Unfortunately, money is an issue for me and I simply can not afford R75, especially when this is not my fault!
