First National Bank called on Monday 8th july 2013 to tell me that there was forex commission for my brokerage from PPM in the UK.
I was expecting tis as it is paid 1/2 yearly. Normally, once they confirm the transaction the funds are deposited immediately.
A debit order for the amount of R2, 131.36 was to be presented that evening.
I therefore did not put the funds in to the account (my wife's account number 59211583016) as I thought the funds would be through shortly.
This did not happen and when on Tuesday the 9th July 2013, I queried this with FNB forex, I was told that " they did it late".
I called FNB Woodmead where my wife's account is domiciled and explained to one of the staff that the monies would be credited in a short while and please do not return the debit order.
They immediately returned the debit order even though the monies were there by 11 am that morning.
I called the bank and asked to speak to the managerand was told that he was busy.
The manager has not bothered to call back. This after 45 years as customers of FNB.
The treatment is disgusting.
