20/12/2013 - took leave from work to apply for a loan. Went in to Capitec Overport with documentation.. Consultant assisted me, verified my work details, informed me I needed to obtain a copy of my contract from our H R department.
24/12/2013 - Returned to Capitec with documentation and entire contract. Assisted by the same consultant. Went through the entire process again. Was told everything was in order and she just needed to confirm with her manager. Consultant returned only to tell me that because I am paid electronically through the bank (some nonsense to that effect) I am unable to get the loan.
1 - Had I been informed of this anitially, I would not have bothered to obtain my contract etc and return to this bank, sit hours wasting my time only to be told at the end of the day that because I am paid through the bank the loan will not be processed. I work in the Financial Service Industry and have never heard such rubbish in my life.
After having an account with Capitec for almost a year and them not being able to assist me when I needed help (with such a rubbish reason) I have decided to cut my losses and close my account with Capitec.
