I recently tried to pay accounts via my Absa Trust account only to find that a code kept coming up. Thinking this was a glitch to the system I left it a few days and tried again. It still happened.
Phoning the Call Centre they informed me that my bank account was frozen due to a FICA requirement and I must phone the Business centre in Newton Park.
I was informed that my Trustee's company details were incorrect and therefore Non FICA compliant. Money will go into the Trust account but no debit orders or Home loan payments will be honored. I asked if they could unblock the account for 2 weeks to give me time to find the relevant papers, and to at least let month end payments go through. They refused.
Why was no notification sent to me or warning that there was a problem. Is this Customer Services?
