I have been trying to FICA my account with this so called bank.
Firstly my account was opened when FICA had already been enforced therefore there should be no need, requirement nor problem with my account. I Opened another account with a Real Bank and they have not requested me to FICA yet it was in the same month!?!
I have been into the bank and they cannot accept my only proof of address which is my rental statement as i have all my mail sent to my PO Box, however they are more than happy to accept it to open an account...
I was informed my Landlord has to put it on a letterhead, so they have to create a letterhead for ABSA bank to accept my proof of address, yet 2 other banks can accept it and move forward.
They even have the stupidity to tell me (after confirming that the address is on their system) that I must go to my other banks for a print out on their letterhead with the same address on the paper in their incompetent hands. Really?!?!
I then asked how I go about CLOSING the account and they tell me I have to FICA to do so. That was enough for me to realise that ABSA is utterly useless!!!
