We applied and was approved for a home loan with standard bank, application was done in my husbands name and instruction sent to attorneys. Because the title deed is in both our names (married out of community of property) the attorneys instructed the bank to add me as subsidiary debtor to the bond documents so they can lodge it for registration. This was done Thursday morning already. We urgently need to finalise this as the bond registration takes another 2-3 weeks. We have phoned numerous times and just get a response that we have to wait 3 days as that is Std Banks turnaround time, I mean three days to add a spouse name? Don't they understand that when people apply for Home loans they have a limited amount of time? Surely if the attorney requests a change they can handle it quicker?
