My husband and I both bank with FNB and we decided that we will support them when taking out our first home loan on a paid up unbonded property worth 3.6mil, we only wanted to open a bond for R 500 000.00
As the title deed is in both our names we both need to be on the bond, but we applied in my husbands name as he has an excellent record, no debt and would also be paying the monthly instalments. I don't have a good record and only wanted to add myself to the bond but not participate in the screening process, just as a subsidiary debtor or whatever option they can offer us. But in stead of helping they just declined our application at the first stage already?? This is really a big disappointed for us, our own bank not even going the extra mile to assist, but two other banks approved us straight away? Thinking we should rather move our business elsewhere then.
